Two Wines that will be Ready for Christmas
Season’s Greetings, well not quite yet. But it is time to check your supply of wines for the season. It’s a sad thing but the leaves have changed and it is getting cooler. Winter is on its way. Do you have your Christmas wines fermenting yet? If the answer is no, don’t put it off. Start now and be ready, or start later and scramble to get it done.
I’m sure everyone has their Chocolate Raspberry and Blackberry Ports as well as their Peach Icewines fermetning away. All three will be great to cap off Christmas dinner. But if you’r looking for something to serve with the turkey and ham, World Vineyard has two limited run wines available that will be ready in time.
Chilean Carmenere/Malbec that is sure to be a fine smooth wine. Carmenere is Chile’s signature grape and is becoming more and more popular with it’s easy drinkablity.
Argentine Chardonnay/Torrontes is going to be special. I’m really loking forward to this one! Torrontes is not a well known grape, but it is special to Argentina. It’s very popular and is described as:
“Enticing aromas that are strikingly similair to Viognier, with hints of peach pit, flowers, and orange citrus fruit. On the palate, it has a beautiful structure and acidity along with enticing fruit flavors that keep you coming back for another sip.”
Blended with the Chardonnay it is sure to be a guest pleaser.
Both of these wines are in short supply so stop by your favourite Wine Sense location before it’s too late.
Cheers,
Brian, Manager (Wine Sense- Portage Avenue)
